A word from the director...

Bags are being packed, music is being checked, and anticipation is high. The Colby College Chorale sets off on the first leg of its journey to Italy for a concert tour tomorrow, Friday morning, March 23 -- bus to Logan, flight across the Atlantic to Frankfurt, and on to Roma -- not "a rivederci" but rather "benvenuto"! We are all looking forward to our first performance, which will be to provide music at St Peter's Basilica in the Vatican for the offertory and communion sections of the mass this coming Sunday, March 25. This will be an extraordinary moment in the musical lives of all of us: the chance to sing for a service in one of the greatest cathedrals (and for many, *the* greatest cathedral) in Christendom. We had a wonderful rehearsal on Tuesday, and are fully prepared -- now it's time to attend to those last-minute details (did I pack enough socks?), check the weather in Italy on line, and anticipate a smooth journey.
